FAQ

Our ETSF team works seamlessly in conjunction with our Customs Clearance department, which enables us to clear your goods inland thus ensuring that your shipments avoid unnecessary delays at ports of arrival. This allows us to control your goods from end to end whilst eliminating additional costs in using 3rd party clearance agents. By clearing on site, Trafertir are able to complete customs formalities at the earliest opportunity, making same day or next day deliveries / collections via our in house domestic transport service.

Trafertir will only act as a Direct Representative when completing any documents, either on behalf an importer, exporter, forwarder or transport company.

In a post-Brexit world, many importers and exports will be dealing with customs clearance for the first time so we recommend that you take time to consider who will be responsible for what charges. By using the right INCO terms for your business, you can clearly decide what part of the freight movement you wish to pay for when negotiating with your customer or supplier.

As an authorised AEO operator, Trafertir understand that our customers need us to minimise the complications they face from Customs. While we cannot make the red tape go away, we can provide you with the expertise to minimise delays and ensure the quickest possible customs clearance.

Trafertir will only act as a Direct Representative when completing any documents, either on behalf an importer, exporter, forwarder or transport company.

No! Most Freight Forwarders, unless they specifically advise you otherwise, trade under limited liability conditions. This is the case with most other elements in the Supply Chain, e.g. hauliers, warehouses, ports, terminals, airlines, shipping lines etc.

INCO terms are internationally accepted commercial terms defining the respective roles of the buyer and seller in the arrangement of transportation and other responsibilities and clarify when the ownership of the merchandise takes place. They are used in conjunction with a sales agreement or other method of transacting the sale. In a post-Brexit world, it is extremely important that the correct INCO terms are used to clarify who is responsible for the Export and Import customs clearance charges as well as any duties or taxes applied.
